Allen Broughton<\/h3>\n<div id=\"overlay-text\">While at Rose-Hulman, a highly regarded STEM school, my passions were teaching and mathematical scholarship, especially research with\u00a0 undergraduates. I taught for 13 years total at Memorial University of Newfoundland, the University of Wisconsin, and Cleveland State University before coming to Rose-Hulman as Department Head in 1994. Twenty years later, I stepped down to pursue my teaching and scholarship activities full-time. In 2017, I retired from Rose-Hulman as emeritus professor and continue with mathematical scholarship.<\/div>\n<div>I continue to enjoy my collaborations in the area of Riemann surfaces with my research colleagues in the United States and Europe. I also continue to write and edit a text on image processing.\u00a0 I chronicle my emeritus activities on the website:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/askthedoctorofmath.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ask the Doctor (of Math)<\/a>.<\/div>\n<h3>My education<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor of Science (1976): <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uwindsor.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">University of Windsor<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Master of Science (1978): <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queensu.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Queen&#8217;s University at Kingston<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Doctorate (Ph.D 1982): <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queensu.ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Queen&#8217;s University at Kingston<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Where I&#8217;ve taught<\/h3>\n<p>Since graduating from Queen&#8217;s (actually one year before) I&#8217;ve taught at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mun.ca\">Memorial University of Newfoundland<\/a>, (2 years)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wisc.edu\/\">University of Wisconsin at Madison<\/a>, (3 years)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.csuohio.edu\/\">Cleveland State University<\/a> (8 years)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>before coming to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rose-hulman.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology<\/a> as head of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rose-hulman.edu\/academics\/academic-departments\/mathematics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mathematics Department<\/a> in August 1994.
