Ophthalmic Measurements using AI-Based Wavefront Sensing

Motivation and Objectives

               

We are collaborating with Innovations Foresight to develop an AI-based wavefront sensing system which detects the aberrations of the human eye via a trained neural network which estimates the first 35 Zernike Coefficients of the distorted wavefront reflected from the retinal plane of the subject. At the moment, we are verifying and refining the scientific and experimental aspects of this system before we step into the next phase.

Toward this goal, we have developed as optical testbed to mimic measurements on a human eye and to calibrate the AI-based system to other wavefront sensing methods such as a Shack-Hartmann wavefront sensor.
