The work involved modeling and experimenting toward the development of novel computational optics techniques for diffuse imaging, time-of-flight imaging, fluorescence lifetime imaging and non-line-of-sight imaging around corners. Dr. Reza has continued some of that work after joining RHIT in 2019. After starting at RHIT, the following works have been co-authors with the team at UW-Madison.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-678\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/reza\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/312\/2024\/09\/RH_G_HiRes-RGB-1c-244x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"51\" height=\"63\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/reza\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/312\/2024\/09\/RH_G_HiRes-RGB-1c-244x300.png 244w, https:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/reza\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/312\/2024\/09\/RH_G_HiRes-RGB-1c.png 510w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 51px) 100vw, 51px\" \/> <strong>Collaboration with Dr. Maarij Syed in Magneto-optical Nanoparticles<\/strong><br \/>\nThis collaborative work involves investigating the different aspects of super-paramagnetic (SP) nanoparticles. this includes modeling the behavior of SP nanoparticles and the possible morphological aspects due to aggregations, understanding the non-linear magnetization behavior of these nanoparticles, the geometries which allow us to characterize their polarization and scattering based effects and the effects of external factors such as temperature, concentration and applied magnetic field variations.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-690\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/reza\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/312\/2024\/09\/IF_Logo.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"92\" height=\"92\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/reza\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/312\/2024\/09\/IF_Logo.png 225w, https:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/reza\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/312\/2024\/09\/IF_Logo-150x150.png 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 92px) 100vw, 92px\" \/> <strong>Investigating AI-based Wavefront Sensing for Ophthalmic Applications<\/strong><br \/>\nOur recent collaborative work with Innovations Foresight is focused on investigating the possible use of the patented Innovations Foresight technology to detect wavefront aberrations using AI-based software tools. Our work looks to extend the use of this technology to characterizing the defects in the human eye by studying the aberrations imparted to an incident optical wavefront. The work could potentially open doors to the use of a perception-less method to detect human vision problems replacing the expensive wavefront sensing equipment that mostly can only be purchased by large eye hospitals with low-cost systems which can be possibly used by neighborhood optometrists.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have recently collaborated with the University of Wisconsin-Madison on diffuse imaging research and are currently collaborating within Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology as well as Innovations Foresight in the areas of computational imaging, wavefront sensing and magneto-optics.
