A buoy is floating in the water 50 meters east and 40 meters north of the pier. Determine the minimum distance between the boat and the buoy.<br \/>\n<b>9<\/b> You are told that two trigonometric functions each have period Pi and that their graphs intersect at <i>x<\/i>=3.64.<br \/>\n(A) Can you say whether these two graphs intersect at any smaller positive <i>x<\/i> value? If so, what is it?<br \/>\n(B) Find an <i>x<\/i> value greater than 3.64 at which these graphs intersect.<br \/>\n(C) Find a negative <i>x<\/i> value at which these graphs intersect.<br \/>\n<b>10<\/b> Use the data in <tt>daylight.mws<\/tt> to study the graph of the function describing the number of minutes between sunrise and sunset in Terre Haute as a function of the day of the year.
