does for Franklin Elementary students in Terre Haute. \u00a0Children at this age start to form their attitudes toward STEM subjects. \u00a0Developing interest and having fun with STEM, such as laughing third grader Carmen McMurray stating the red fluid from a white radish looks like a chopped off finger, makes kids more likely to pursue STEM in the future.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-277 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/ryvesup\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/2017\/11\/Ryves-Up-2-300x232.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"336\" height=\"260\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/ryvesup\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/2017\/11\/Ryves-Up-2-300x232.jpg 300w, https:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/ryvesup\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/2017\/11\/Ryves-Up-2-768x595.jpg 768w, https:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/ryvesup\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/2017\/11\/Ryves-Up-2-700x542.jpg 700w, https:\/\/wordpress.rose-hulman.edu\/ryvesup\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/234\/2017\/11\/Ryves-Up-2.jpg 775w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 336px) 100vw, 336px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Kids that are taught STEM at an early age are set up for success in their futures. \u00a0The U.S. Department of Commerce says STEM occupations are growing almost twice as fast as non-STEM majors, at 17% compared to 9.8%. \u00a0An article from <a href=\"http:\/\/engineeringforkids.com\/article\/02-02-2016_importanceofstem\">Engineering For Kids<\/a> discusses the benefits of providing kids a STEM education. \u00a0This article mentions STEM taught children will be more likely to pursue STEM degrees, and that STEM degree holders have a higher average income even in non-STEM careers. \u00a0The STEM education from Ryves Up!
