Meet Our Officers

Co-President

Will Lawton

Will Lawton, Co-President, is a sophomore civil engineering major.  He joined Engineers Without Borders to gain real-world design/construction experience and make a lasting impact on the world.  Outside of Engineers Without Borders, Will is involved in band and works part-time in the estimating department for one of the leading heavy civil contractors in the southeast.  In his free time, Will enjoys working on random projects with his friends and getting outdoors.

Kayla Martinez

Kayla Martinez, a sophomore mechanical engineer, is the Co-President. She joined Engineers Without Borders to apply concepts she learned about in the classroom to real work. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, baking, kayaking, and being outdoors. Another one of her favorite past times is distance running. Outside of EWB, Kayla is involved in Askrose, Society of Hispanic Profession Engineers, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers.​​​​​​​

 

Engineering Team Co-Manager

David Lincoln

David Lincoln, Engineering Team Co-Manager, is a Freshman Mechanical Engineering major. David is also getting his Master’s in Engineering Management during his time at Rose. He joined Engineers Without Borders to make changes to the real world and to get more experience managing engineers. In his free time, David plays the cello, bakes bread, and reads.

Makayla Ray

Makayla Ray, Co-Engineering Team Manager, is a sophomore Civil Engineering major. I joined  Engineering without Borders in order to apply what I learn in class to the real world and to be able to have a positive impact on a less fortunate community. Outside of EWB, I work at the bookstore and am an active member of NSBE. My hobbies include floor hockey, sleeping, and being outside.

Libby Smith

Libby Smith, EWB Co Fundraising and Marketing Team Manager, is a freshman Mechanical Engineering major with a minor in Systems. Libby joined Engineers Without Borders to gain more real-world experience while mixing her love for philanthropy and engineering. Libby is also a part of ASME, LSN, Cross Country and Track, and Chi-omega. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, painting, and calligraphy.

Walker Coffy

Walker Coffy, Co-Fundraising & Marketing Team Lead, is a junior Chemical Engineering major. He joined Engineers Without Border to help address and resolve real-world issues. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, baking, listening, to music, playing video games, and binging shows with his suitemates.

Ben King

Ben King, EWB Treasurer, is a freshman Mechanical Engineering major. Ben joined Engineers Without Borders with the goal of getting real-life engineering experience while also making a meaningful difference in the world. In his free time, Ben enjoys competitive sailing, designing robots, and learning more about sustainable technology.

Local Outreach Chair

Tracy Orgera

Tracy Orgera is a sophomore chemical engineering major and will be the local outreach officer for Engineers Without Borders for the 2022 school year. Tracy joined EWB because she loves doing volunteer work, and EWB is a great option for applying this passion to the real world on campus. In her free time, she likes to listen and dance to music, study Korean, and play video games. She is also on the Rose Women’s soccer team.

Secretary

Walker Grove

Walker Grove, Secretary, is a freshman Civil Engineering student. He joined EWB because he wants to help get people the essentials of life, like clean drinking water and a safe home. He has gone on multiple mission trips in the past, which led him to the purpose of EWB. He is also a member of the Rose-Hulman chapter of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. He wishes to use the knowledge and connections he makes through EWB, to help form a foundation for his own company where he partners with other civil service groups to help improve infrastructure in third world countries.
