Meet Our Officers


Jackie Miller

Jackie Miller will be the President for this upcoming year. Jackie is a senior civil engineering student who minors in Spanish. She is an active member of EWB and loves early morning SAWs or Habitat for Humanity builds. As a yogi, you can find her at the yoga studio and soon to be teaching at the yoga studio. Although, she can’t eat anything, she loves to bake and frequently jokes about opening a GF bakery. She loves travelling and was excited to travel to Ghana and Argentina during these last 2 years. She hopes to become bilingual and be able to help a wide range of people with her engineering degree, just like EWB!

Peter Householter

Peter, Co-Engineering Team Manager, is a junior Civil Engineering student minoring in Spanish with plans to pursue a graduate degree in Structural Engineering. He got involved in EWB early during his freshmen year and traveled on the first assessment trip to Ecuador. Peter was voted EWB’s Member of the Year his freshmen year because of his immediate impact and contributions. When not attending meetings, Peter can be found playing Catan and many Intramurals with his freshmen in Deming where he “works” as a Sophomore Advisor, answering homework questions at AskRose on weeknights, or telling his roommate to finally get some sleep.


Engineering Team Co-Manager

Amy Metz

Amy Metz is a junior civil engineering student. She is an active member of EWB and loves early morning SAWs wheelchair ramp builds, Habitat for Humanity builds, and Adopt a Highway clean ups. She is also involved in concrete canoe and Rose-Hulman’s ASCE student chapter. Amy is also a Sophomore Advisor in Mees Hall. She hopes to take what she is learning at Rose, both through classes and extracurricular involvement, to help communities around the world create sustainable infrastructure systems. In the little spare time she has, you can catch her out on Speed Lake’s dock reading a book, baking in her Res Hall’s kitchen, or dragging her freshmen to various events occurring around campus.

Austin Strozier

Austin Strozier, Co-Fundraising/Marketing Team Manager, is a junior Mechanical Engineer with a minor in Computer Science. He joined EWB to serve the community, and then after spending some time in the club, found he really enjoyed the whole process. Austin wants to do his best to help the club by leading the fundraising/marketing team. Austin loves playing sports especially playing flag football or seven on seven with friends. When he is not working on schoolwork in the commons, you can find Austin taking advantage of the SRC and staying active.

Katlynn Bussett

Katlynn Bussett is a junior Biomedical Engineering student at Rose-Hulman hoping to have a career in Tissue Engineering. She joined Engineering Without Borders with hopes to help people in any way that she can and to have real-world engineering experiences. Katlynn is an active member of Alpha Omicron Pi where she holds the office of Vice President of Chapter Development, Concrete Canoe, Sophomore Committee, as well as EWB. In her free time she enjoys intramural sports and hanging out with her residents in Scharpenberg. Outside of Rose-Hulman, she enjoys training her dogs and working on her 1977 F100 truck.


Cyrus Luczkow

Cyrus Luczkow, Treasurer, is a junior Biomedical Engineering Student. He joined Engineers Without Borders to be able to fulfill a need to help others around the world, and hopes to continue doing so throughout his life. He plans on following a pre-med track here at Rose and eventually going to medical school. He also enjoys photography; an interest which has allowed him to appreciate the little things in life and witness the hardships experienced around the world. He also enjoys biking, swimming, skiing, reading, hanging out with friends way too late, and, of course, sleeping for hours on end.


Madeleine Hamon

Madeleine Hamon, secretary, is a sophomore mechanical engineering student minoring in Spanish (and hoping to complete a concentration in aerospace engineering). She joined EWB because she has enjoyed going on mission trips in the past, and wanted to take the opportunity to help people and use engineering to make a difference in their lives. Madeleine is also an active member of the RHIT Ultimate Frisbee club, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, and Design Build Fly.

Local Outreach Chair

Samuel VanDenburgh

Samuel VanDenburgh, Local Outreach Chair, is a sophomore working towards his bachelors in Computer Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He is also a member of Rose-Hulman’s Army ROTC program and plans to pursue a career as an Army Officer. Though his future plans are not set in stone, Samuel wants to travel as much of the world as possible while helping its people along the way. In his free time, Samuel enjoys playing the piano, bowling, board, role playing, playing Hockey, and video games.
