In 2006 we completed our first implementation trip to the village of Obodan, Ghana. Below is a description of the project started during this trip.
Brooder House
During the year of 2006 the club designed and then built a poultry house capable of housing 1200 chickens. In addition to housing the chickens, the poultry house has a storage area for seed and a refrigerator for vaccines. The objectives of the poultry house were to train village members in the proper technique for raising chickens, increase poultry production and consumption, and to provide monetary support for the village. The poultry house is 2800 square feet and was built by incorporating local building methods and materials.
